What Does a Luxury Concierge Service Cost?

Luxury concierge memberships run from roughly $300 to $1,000 per month at entry level, €2,000 to €5,000 per month mid-tier, and $10,000 per month or more at the top. Most providers add a one-off initiation fee, and many earn a further 5 to 15 percent commission on what they book for you.

What do the tiers actually buy?

The word "membership" covers three quite different products. The gap between them is not service quality but who answers and how fast.

Dollar and euro figures appear as the sources publish them; the mid-tier band is quoted in euros because European providers dominate that segment. Market ranges, not EchelonX tariffs.

Why is the range so wide?

Because you are buying access to a person's time, and the tiers differ in how much of it is reserved for you.

  • Entry level is a shared desk. Your request joins a queue handled by whoever is on shift. Fine for a restaurant booking, weak when something goes wrong at 23:00 in another time zone.
  • Mid-tier buys a named person who knows your preferences without being told again. That is most of the value, and most of the cost.
  • Ultra buys redundancy. A team rather than an individual, so there is no single point of failure when your manager is asleep or on leave.

What sits on top of the membership fee?

Three things, and they are frequently underestimated.

Initiation fee

A one-off charge, commonly $1,500 to $40,000 and occasionally far higher. It is not a deposit and it is not usually refundable. What it is meant to cover — and when it is worth paying — is set out in what an initiation fee buys you.

Commission on bookings

Many providers earn 5 to 15 percent from the hotels, restaurants and operators they book you into, on top of your fee. That is standard practice, and it creates an incentive worth understanding before you rely on a recommendation. We set out how to test for it in how concierge commission works.

Specialist hourly work

Anything outside routine bookings — sourcing a specific object, managing a relocation, running a project — is generally billed at $200 to $500 or more per hour, separately from the membership.

What is a realistic first-year figure?

For a mid-tier membership the honest arithmetic is: initiation, plus twelve months of fees, plus whatever commission is embedded in your bookings. A €3,000 monthly membership with a $10,000 initiation is roughly €36,000 plus $10,000 before a single reservation is made — and commission on your actual spend sits inside the prices you pay, invisible unless you ask.

That is the number to compare against, not the monthly headline.

Is a membership the right structure at all?

Not always. If you make a handful of requests a year, paying per request is usually cheaper — sometimes dramatically. The break-even, worked through by request volume, is in membership or pay per request.

Common questions

Do concierge services publish their prices?

Most do not. Fees are usually quoted after an initial conversation, partly because scope varies enormously and partly because the market treats pricing as a negotiation. Published ranges like those above are the reliable way to know whether a quote is normal.

Is a concierge membership refundable?

Monthly fees usually stop when you cancel, subject to notice. Initiation fees are typically non-refundable. Ask specifically what happens if you leave in month two, and get the answer in writing before you pay.

Does a higher fee mean better access?

Not reliably. Access depends on the provider's relationships with specific venues and operators, not on what they charge you. A mid-tier provider with deep relationships in your city will outperform an expensive one without them.

Can you negotiate a concierge fee?

Often, particularly the initiation fee and on annual rather than monthly terms. Providers have more room on the one-off charge than on the recurring one, because the recurring fee is what funds the person handling your requests.

Our Beyond Limits programme is invitation-only rather than fee-tiered, and we quote after understanding what you actually need — not from a rate card.
